The Optical Fibers (OF`s) alignment is one of very important operation to perform the optimal parameters of light beam as generated by a light source as for our project PULSE-COM works. For its application, we have used Laser Diodes (LD`s) of different colours including instant red colour with the wavelength of 635 nm.
For the alignment procedure first experiments used the mechanical support concept in house to align the OF (n°1), a single mode fiber with an FC/PC connector at one end and LD as light source at the other of which beam generated looks as above with a second OF (n°2) with same characteristics of OF but having the refractive network at one end and a connector type FC/PC at the other end. Even if the alignment seems to be visually good the light quantity losing on the free space has a great value, over 90%, so didn`t pass through the OF n°2 and doesn`t reach the refractive network on the OF n°2 lateral side with related slits.
